Irton Hall Wedding

Just a great place to shoot a wedding and its no wonder they refer to it as the Lake Districts hidden jewel, Irton Hall wedding venue is truly a beautiful place. I dont know what it is about the Lake District, it almost feels like your in a different world. Its great to get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life and its such a calming place. Irton Hall has a history stretching back to the 14th century, situated in the foothills of Lakeland’s western fells between Wasdale and Eskdale it is more like a stately home than a hotel. What a great find!!

Lake district weddings

Ok, let me tell you more about the day, we arrived nice and early and started shooting the prep. Both the bride and groom were staying at Irton Hall overnight and Matt and the grooms party traveled to the Church in a VW camper (how cool is that). It was a really chilled morning, lots of laughter and a little emotion but a great start to the wedding. We headed over to St Catherine’s Church, Boot in Holmrook.

The church ceremony

I guess one of the challenges of shooting weddings in remote locations is the access. St Catherine’s is a bit of the beaten track, but what a lovely church. As the guests made their way into the church, Angie and her dad arrived in a beautiful horse and carriage. The service was lovely, St Catherine’s is quite a small church so it had a very cosy feel to it. After the service we headed over to the reception and enjoyed some great entertainment. During the wedding breakfast Howard Wing performed in his own inimitable style. Howard has a talent for getting everyone in the mood and after the bridal party entered the room, Howard then wandered around singing and involving all the guests. Howard not only has a great voice, he is such a good entertainer and towards the end of the wedding breakfast the party was really getting started.

Party time

The dancing commences as Howard sings

The day flew by and the guests enjoyed a short break just before the evening celebrations started and everyone gathered for the first dance, without any encouragement the dance floor was packed in no time and it was time for us to head home. What a great day and another fabulous wedding.

Congrats Angie & Matt

We love filming at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, theres something about its grand entrance and the beautiful Ballroom that sets it apart from other hotels. This wedding was made all the more special as Rachel & Adam were such a great couple and they had the fabulous Storm perfoming in the evening who are incredible. The ballroom looked spectacular in the evening and one of the highlights for us was Rachel singing on stage towards the end of the night!!

Rachel & Adam came via recomendation as we had filmed their friends wedding earlier in the year (see Sam & Nick) at Brookfield Manor. Lots of great footage from this wedding and some really special moments. Enjoy this break from the norm highlight 🙂

Here is a lovely wedding teaser from a beautiful wedding we filmed in the South of France at the incredible Chateau La Durantie. Many visitors here will have heard me wax lyrical in the past about what a wonderful job we have and how lucky we are to film in such beautiful locations, well that was most certainly true when we filmed Sean and Rhiannon’s wedding. We had done a little research prior to the wedding and loved the look of Chateau La Durantie, it had so much character and typified french architecture of this period. The Chateau is in the Perogord Vert a beautiful and tranquil part of the Dordogne in south west France. I could go on about what a beautiful setting it was, but in the interests of keeping things concise I wont dwell on about the details.

I think on this day the stars must have aligned and it was just perfect, Sean and Rhiannon were great to work with and lots of fun with Sean singing to Rhiannon in the evening (I don’t think he will mind me saying but he’s by no means a natural singer), a very skillfully performed 1st dance and finishing of the evening with a firework display and crepes served around midnight.  A big thank you to Leonard Cohade who photographed their day and was a pleasure to work with. We film several weddings a year in France, Spain, Italy and beyond and its always a pleasure traveling to such beautiful locations and meeting such wonderful people, this has to be our favourite French wedding video yet though. Enjoy

Absolutely loved shooting Charlotte and Jonathans wedding in London at the Marriot Grosvenor. It followed the lovely wedding day of Simeon and Olivia who were close friends and we had ventured down south to film their day the previous week. The ceremony was held at The Western Marble Arch Synagogue just a few short steps from Oxford Street, Park Lane and Hyde Park in the centre of London. The synagogue is beautiful and has some lovely stain glass windows and great lighting, It was actually the first London Synagogue to preach sermons in English. Whilst adhering to strict orthodox principles and it has a nice contemporary feel to it.

Im glad to say we were blessed with some incredible weather again and Charlotte and Jonathan being the fun couple they are were able to enjoy a spot of table tennis in the park (I kid you not). It was particularly nice to be able to travel with Charlotte to the synagogue and experience all the pre-wedding nerves that we would normally miss out on, being able to capture this was so special. My son Simon was second shooting for me and got some lovely shots of the guys pre-ceremony when they arrived at the synagogue and to say they were in high spirits would be an understatement. Such a fun day and I have to say that Jonathan had a beaming smile all day long, clearly so happy and just taking in the moments. Enjoy

Cant believe we were blessed with such incredible sunshine on this lovely weekend. We hadnt filmed at Brookfield Manor but after a bit of research I knew it was a stunning venue, especially outdoors! I had been watching weather forecasts all week and when Sunday arrived I knew it was going to be something special. First time meeting Sam and Nick also but I felt like I knew them, we had covered the wedding of several of their friends (see Jaymie & Rob, Emma & Nick) and potentially Richard & Jo fingers crossed! So a lot of familiar faces there.

It was also great to work with the lovely Linda Abrahams and her team again who event planned the whole day and is always a pleasure to work with. It was pretty much eutopia for us, great outdoor venue, hot sunny day and lots of happy people! We could have been filming in the South of France and it wouldnt have been better. The day flew by and everyone one enjoyed a great party and entertainment courtesy of Storm International Showband, who were exceptional.
