Luke & Tina – A Hoghton Tower Wedding, Lancashire

Very Special day for Luke and Tina and particularly nice to be back at Hoghton Tower again. Its kind of one of Lancashire’s hidden gems and to be honest a place that you could so easily drive past not knowing it was there. It has so much character and it was a pleasure to film there again. Right from the moment I met Luke, Tina & Ben I was so looking forward to filming their day. Luke and Tina were both quite laid back and took everything in their stride and Lukes speech was particularly special. It reminded me of how different couples show emotion and of a bride some two years earlier who was so overcome with emotion she kept gigling uncontrollably at the altar! It certainly had everyone laughing along as did Lukes speech. Also good to work alongside Adam Riley who was the photographer, check out some of his work, it is truly inspiring and an all round nice guy. Enjoy!

Katherine & Rob – A Wedding at Ashton Memorial Lancaster

Its fair to say that Ashton Memorial is one of the most spectacular venues in the Northwest, I love the architecture and its such a grand venue.Its been several months since I last filmed there and its nice to see the park change as the seasons progress. Katherine & Rob were a real pleasure to work with, the ceremony was very special and they had a lovely string trio playing during which added to the elegance but didnt detract from what was highly emotional. I was so pleased that we were chosen to film the day, we captured some fantastic footage and loved filming at the equally spectacular Leighton Hall where the reception and evening celebrations were held. Ive covered wedding around Lancaster for several years now and never come accross Leighton Hall, it really is a hidden gem and the proprioters are extremely hospitable. It was also a please working alongside their photographer Dan Wootton. All in all a great days filming!!

Its been a couple of years since I last filmed at Hoghton Tower just outside Preston, but filming Luke and Tina’s day recently it reminded me of what a fantastic place this is and really a hidden gem in Lancashire. It really is a place steeped in history and full of authentic character. We had a great time filming Luke & Tina’s wedding and have some truly beautiful footage from the day, the day just seemed to fly by and before we knew it we were covering the first dance. This is a lovely part of the country and made all the nicer with the mild weather we enjoyed. Here’s a couple of frame grabs….

Gail & Brian – A Wedding Film Preview!

It was certainly not your typical british wedding weather when we filmed Gail and Brians wedding, sweltering day and such an enjoyable celebration. I think right from the moment I met Gail and Brian I was so looking forward to filming their day, I dont know exactly what it was but their excitement and passion was just so infectious and Simon and I couldnt wait. It was great shooting at the Thistle Hotel in Haydock and thoroughly enjoyed the ceilidh band on into the evening. I will say right from the off this is not my normal style but I think its important sometimes to be a little daring and aim for a more artistic look. Hope you enjoy!

Jaymie & Rob – A Hilton Hotel Wedding in Manchester

So great to be filming Jaymie and Rob’s wedding, I think if the truth be known Id been looking forward to it since we were booked last May. Id been lucky enough to film Jaymies sister’s wedding a few years earlier (see Rosie & Bobby) so I knew it was going to be some party! What a lovely family and some emotional moments under the Chuppa at the very stylish Hilton Hotel in Manchester followed by a fantastic evening until the early hours. It was also our first time working with Jennabelle Events who put on an incredible party and planned the whole day to perfection. All in all an unforgettable day. Enjoy!

Rachel & Andy – A Mere Golf & Country Club Wedding

When I look back over 2011, its so difficuilt to choose a favourite wedding and Ive said before how fortunate we have been to cover so many wonderful weddings in such beautiful locations, but what makes them so special are the couples themselves. The reception was held at the lovely Mere Golf & Country Club in Knutsford Cheshire, which has a great par-71 golf course covering 150 acres and is situated in the Cheshire woodlands. Lovely location and stunning surroundings.

Rachel and Andy were just so cool and I feel truly blessed to have been chosen to cover their day. I had covered Rachels close friends wedding some years earlier (See Melanie & David’s teaser) and it was great to see them there on the day. I cant pick a favourite from 2011 but without doubt Rachel and Andy are in my top 3!! Enjoy.

Sarah & Darren – A Wedding at the Queens Hotel Leeds

Did I mention that I love my job!! We a have been so fortunate covering some fantastic weddings in great locations but Sarah & Darrens wedding was exceptional, in the very elegant Queens Hotel in Leeds. Such a wonderful family and what a priveleage to be able to film their day. Sarah’s parents contacted us after we filmed Idan and Nicole’s wedding last year at the Etz Chaim Synagogue in Leeds. From first meeting them I knew it would be an incredible simca, such a warm family atmosphere and a very moving ceremony in a beautiful Synagogue. Enjoy the highlights.

Helen & Chris – A Wedding at the Oratory Birmingham

Wow what a stunning location the Oratory in Birmingham was, such a grand venue to get married in and what a fantastic service, emotional, joyous and beautiful. It was such a pleasure to work with Helen and Chris, they have a wonderful family and its clear that family means so much to them both. Great reception and party afterwards at Hagley Hall and always a pleasure to work alongside the very talented Richard from Enlight Wedding Photography.

Will I be happy with our Wedding Film?

I think there are so many choices out there for couples to consider when it comes to having your big day filmed. It would be fair to say its also a minefield and when I occasionally surf the internet and do a bit of competition watching I do despair sometimes! its not the quality of the examples that surprise me but more the dribble that comes with it. Here at Cedar House Productions we have a relaxed and open approach, we dont believe in the hard sell and always appreciate how difficuilt the process is when trying to choose your film maker. Couples that visit our studio are always encouraged to leave and think about their choice rather than make a decision there and then, its the way I we like to be treated when making purchasing decisions and its how we treat all our guests and enquirers. On a side not we recieved this lovely testimonial from a couple who’s wedding we covered in December last year:-

Lowry Hotel Jewish Wedding – Manchester

Great city center location and always a pleasure to shoot at the Lowry hotel, the award-winning Lowry Hotel is situated on the banks of the River Irwell in the recently-developed Chapel Wharf area on the Salford-Manchester boundary. I love the architecture with its dramatic, curved, glass-fronted façade and riverside back drop giving a relaxed and chilled appearance.

What a fantastic day Lucy and Alex had, very emotional and some lovely words from the Rabbi. The day was planned to perfection and flew by at a blistering pace. Beautiful ceremony and fantastic party into the evening. Hope you enjoy!
